Postdoctoral research positions 2020

The Chebyshev Laboratory at Saint Petersburg State University (SPbSU Russia) is seeking top early-career researchers for 2 postdoctoral positions. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in a relevant area (at most 5 years since the defence), be at most 35 years old at the moment of application and should show evidence of excellence in mathematics. The preference will be given to specialists in analysis, geometry and mathematical physics. It is expected that new postdocs will join the Russian Science Foundation project 19-71-30002 “Analysis, Geometry, and Mathematical Physics”.

Terms and conditions

  • The positions are two year positions, with the possibility of renewal for one year.
  • The starting date is April 15, 2020.
  • There may be a small teaching or administrative duty.
  • The salary amounts to 120.000 RUB (about 1700 euros) per month.
  • Laboratory will provide support for travel or visitors up to 140 000 RUB (2000 euros) per year.

Chebyshev Lab opens a call for researchers

  • Research-assistant (3-6 year students): 15.000–25.000 RUB;
  • Research-engineer (1-4 year PhD students): 40.000–50.000 RUB;
  • Postdocs and researchers: 55.000–80.000 RUB;

Starting date: February, 2020

Participation is allowed for all the specialists, but prefrences will be given to those applications, which are close to the particular focuses of the Laboratory (mathematical analysis, algebra, probability theory, mathematical physics).

General requirements for all the applicants: active involvement in all the activities and daily routine of the Lab, participation in the academic activities of the students of B.Sc. “Mathematics” (problems-checking). Participation of the employees of the Lab in various conferences and scientific schools are greately appreciated, but in cases of long-term trips the most part of the time spent outside the city won`t be compensated.

Kindly note, that submission deadline is 25 December, 2019. Decision of the commettee will be declared at the end of December.

The Chebyshev Laboratory at Saint Petersburg State University (SPbSU Russia) is seeking top early-career researchers for 4 postdoctoral positions. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in a relevant area and should show evidence of excellence in mathematics or theoretical computer science.

Terms and conditions

  • The positions are two year positions, with the possibility of renewal for one year.
  • By default, the starting date is September 1st, 2019.
  • There may be a small teaching or administrative duty.
  • The salary amounts to 120.000 RUB per month.
  • Laboratory has some travel and visitor money available to the members of the Lab on a competitive basis.
